About the position

Northern Light Acadia Hospital is seeking a BC/BE psychiatrist for a unique role that is split between our Adult and Pediatric Inpatient Services. This is a 0.4 FTE (16 hours/week) opportunity and will require candidates to be fellowship trained in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry. Northern Light Acadia Hospital is a regional, acute care psychiatric teaching hospital that is the hub of a comprehensive Behavioral Health service line within the Northern Light Health system. We provide inpatient and outpatient behavioral healthcare for children, teens, and adults in communities throughout the state while specializing in the treatment of mental illness and substance use disorders. Additionally, we offer innovative programming in the form of behavioral health home, integrated behavioral healthcare in primary care practices, general hospital psychiatry, and an extensive telepsychiatry network. We are proud to be the only New England partner for the Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation.

Responsibilities

  • Lead interdisciplinary teams responsible for providing psychiatric care and teaching on the Adult and Pediatric Inpatient Services
  • Oversee the diagnostic process and formulation/implementation of treatment plans; ensure therapies and activities provided are consistent with treatment plan objectives
  • In collaboration with the team, perform diagnostic evaluations, initiate treatment interventions, and provide follow-up evaluations
  • Option to participate in teaching/lecturing opportunities with our Adult Psychiatry Residency Program

Requirements

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible psychiatrist
  • Fellowship trained in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry
