About the position

The position involves facilitating admissions and assessment processes for incoming patients, ensuring a smooth transition into the facility. The role requires responding to inquiries about the facility within established policy timeframes and scheduling or completing pre-admission assessments. Communication with patients or their families regarding recommendations is essential, as well as collaboration with medical and psychiatric personnel to ensure appropriate admissions. The position also involves coordinating admissions and transfers between different levels of care within the facility, and timely communication of projected admissions to designated internal representatives. Additionally, the role includes performing insurance benefit verifications and disseminating the gathered information to patients, their families, and appropriate facility staff. Ensuring all medical admission documentation is collected from external sources prior to patient admission and securing initial pre-authorization for treatment and admission is also a key responsibility. The position requires assisting individual therapists with concurrent reviews with insurance companies to secure continued treatment and facilitating peer-to-peer reviews when necessary, collaborating the results with the multi-disciplinary treatment team. Ongoing assessment of patient status during the admissions process and communication of treatment recommendations to other treatment teams are also critical functions.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in nursing may be the minimum educational requirement of an licensed practical and successful completion of an LPN program.
  • Minimum one year experience working with individuals in a clinical or observational capacity, preferably within the area of specialty for the hiring facility.
