About the position

The Admissions Counselor position at Everglades University is a full-time role focused on guiding prospective students through the admissions process. The Admissions Counselor will be responsible for following up on student inquiries through various channels, including in-person meetings, phone calls, and electronic communication. They will assist students in navigating the enrollment process, ensuring that all admissions requirements are met. The use of Campus Nexus software is essential for tracking student inquiries and documenting interactions, which will help in maintaining organized records and providing personalized support to each prospective student. In addition to direct student engagement, the Admissions Counselor will participate in daily activities that include making enthusiastic calls to prospective students, documenting interactions in daily admissions reports, and conducting guided campus tours. Collaboration with the admissions team is crucial for developing new strategies to enhance student recruitment and retention. Regular meetings with the Campus Vice President will also be part of the role, ensuring alignment on admissions goals and strategies. The counselor will be expected to contribute positively to the team environment, working collaboratively with colleagues to provide excellent service to students.

Responsibilities

  • Daily calls with energy and enthusiasm to prospective students to schedule on-campus career planning sessions.
  • Documentation of phone call records and career planning sessions in daily admissions report.
  • Consistent follow-up with prior inquiries and future students.
  • Provide guided tours of the campus to highlight the features and benefits of the University.
  • Collaborate with the admissions team to develop new strategies.
  • Review start plan with Campus Vice President on a weekly basis.
  • Attend staff and team meetings.
  • Collaborate with all colleagues in a positive manner towards providing excellent student service.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required; Master's degree preferred.
  • Excellent spoken and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strong keyboarding and basic computer skills.
  • High sense of urgency with strong follow-up skills.
  • Ability to connect with a diverse group of individuals.
