About the position

The position involves reviewing prospective admissions against approved admission criteria, policies, and procedures. The role requires the efficient and accurate completion of the admission process for patients, ensuring timely distribution of necessary paperwork to notify staff of patient arrivals or transfers. The individual will greet and search new patients and those transporting them upon arrival, answering any questions they may have. Additionally, the position entails completing the necessary paperwork to admit patients to the assigned program, explaining forms prior to patient signing, notifying the clinical lead of patient arrivals, and escorting patients and documentation to the appropriate location within the facility. It is also essential to ensure that all required patient information is received, processed, and that necessary appointments are made with the appropriate behavioral or medical health personnel. The role includes clerical duties such as managing paperwork, handling data entry, engaging with insurance companies over claims, and answering phones.

Responsibilities

  • Review prospective admissions against approved admission criteria, policies and procedures.
  • Efficient and accurate completion of the admission process of patients and timely distribution of paperwork to notify staff of patient arrivals/transfers.
  • Greet and search new patients and those transporting them upon arrival and answer questions.
  • Complete paperwork necessary to admit patients to the assigned program and explain forms prior to patient signing.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One year experience in healthcare preferred.
