About the position

The Central Louisiana Human Services District (CLHSD) oversees the delivery of mental health, substance use, and intellectual and developmental disability services in an 8-parish area. The incumbent is responsible for the daily operations of the Behavioral Health Clinics in Alexandria and Jonesville, focusing on Reception/Centralized Scheduling, Intake/Fee Assessment, and Children's Services. This position plans, develops, organizes, implements, and directs day-to-day functions of the clinics to ensure compliance, efficiency, and patient satisfaction. The role includes managing the scheduling of multiple behavioral health clinicians, ensuring accurate fee assessment services, and providing support for Children's Services, including handling admissions and assisting with the mental health Cash Subsidy program.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct line supervision to four Administrative Coordinators handling reception and scheduling.
  • Manage the appointment schedule, including scheduling appointments, staff leave, meetings, and conferences.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory guidelines, CARF regulations, and agency policies.
  • Supervise the intake/fee assessor department and ensure fees are collected at the time of service.
  • Conduct thorough client orientation and manage processes for fee information updates.
  • Oversee the Flexible Family Fund Program and maintain service request lists.
  • Review and establish aftercare appointments for children's services.
  • Compile National Voter Registration Act quarterly reports and maintain voter registration documentation.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or management staff.

Requirements

  • Three years of experience in administrative services.
  • Ability to accept and follow directions from higher authority.

  • Knowledge of policies and procedures compliance.
  • Ability to influence and lead change within the organization.
  • Experience in managing conflict and performance.
  • Skills in training others to improve employee performance.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a healthcare or behavioral health setting.
  • Familiarity with Medicaid, Medicare, and other insurance billing processes.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and compliance.
