About The Position

Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient-centered clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations. Reporting to the Manager Health Services, the incumbent acts as a receptionist, greeting and providing requested information and directs to clients, families and visitors and is responsible for the provision of secretarial and administrative support services to Child and Youth Treatment Services (CYTS). The incumbent will maintain a line of accountability to their assigned areas in matters relating to the day to day functions of the position. These functions are undertaken consistent Shared Health policies, and with Child and Youth Treatment Services established philosophy, objectives, and procedures. This position requires the candidate to work one (1) day a week from 10:00am – 6 :00pm.

Requirements

  • Two years’ experience in a health/medical related environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Databases.
  • Switchboard/reception experience.
  • Keyboarding speed of 50 wpm with excellent typing skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and independently complete a variety of administrative and receptionist duties.
  • Demonstrated ability to arrange meetings; transcribe, compile and distribute minutes and agendas.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills essential.
  • Possess strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to function in a fast-paced environment and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Function in a team environment and maintain good working relationships.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of sensitive and confidential information.
  • Completion of a high school or equivalent program of studies.
  • Formal training in applied office skills is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Dictaphone, medical transcription, and medical terminology preferred.
