The position involves managing and overseeing unit operational functions, human resource management, special projects, and process redesign. The role coordinates project teams to ensure quality implementations within established timelines and proactively supports efforts that ensure delivery of safe patient care and services while promoting a safe environment at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.

Responsibilities

  • Manages environment for delivery of care.
  • Acts as clinical resource for patient population in area.
  • Maintains ability to assist with clinical care.
  • Participates in educational process related to delivery of healthcare.
  • Maintains own professional development.
  • Fosters professional development of others via constructive performance feedback, input, and coaching.
  • Provides leadership for project management and change.
  • Participates actively in and supports shared leadership councils.
  • Fosters collegial relationships between team members, other departments, and medical staff members.
  • Demonstrates fiscal accountability in supporting budget preparation, monthly analysis, and compliance to budget guidelines.
  • May serve as unit leader in absence of manager.
  • Participates in achievement of organizational and departmental goals.
  • Participates in departmental national recognition data collection processes and analysis.
  • Facilitates and coordinates work toward care standardization and performance improvement in accordance with evidence-based practice.
  • Performs other responsibilities as required.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
  • Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the single State of Georgia or Multi-State through the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of employment.
  • Professional Nursing Certification deemed by department required upon one year of hire.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in nursing, education, leadership, or other healthcare related field.
  • Minimum 1 year of leadership and management experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Pediatric experience.
