About the position
The Adjunct Instructor of Art at San Juan College is a part-time faculty role focused on teaching college-level courses in 2D Design, Drawing, and Painting. The instructor is responsible for developing instructional materials, presenting course content, evaluating student performance, and maintaining student records. This position requires teaching at various times and locations, including day, evening, weekend, and online classes, while promoting the college's values of Innovation, Collaboration, Accountability, Respect, and Excellence.
Responsibilities
- Develop and revise instructional materials for courses in 2D Design, Drawing, and Painting.
- Present course material in an organized manner to facilitate student learning.
- Evaluate student learning and maintain accurate student records.
- Teach day, evening, weekend, and online classes as assigned.
- Maintain a minimum of 1 office hour per week per assigned course.
- Participate in Adjunct Professional Development activities.
- Demonstrate and promote the school values of Innovation, Collaboration, Accountability, Respect, and Excellence.
Requirements
- Master's degree with at least 18 graduate credit hours in a relevant field from an accredited institution.
- Prior teaching experience is preferred.
- Experience with traditional face-to-face, hybrid, and online courses.
- Ability to use San Juan College's Learning Management System (Canvas).
- Access to home internet, a personal computer, and telephone.
