About the position

Fisher College, a private four-year institution located in the Back Bay district of Boston, is currently seeking to hire an adjunct instructor to teach two Algebra courses for the Fall 2025 semester. The courses will run from September 2, 2025, through December 19, 2025. Instruction will be in-person on Tuesdays and Thursdays, with class times scheduled from 2:15 PM to 3:30 PM and 3:45 PM to 5:00 PM. Additional responsibilities include training, course preparation, grading, and student communication. These courses are introductory algebra courses designed for first-year students, covering topics such as solving equations, as well as exponential and logarithmic functions. In addition to classroom instruction, coursework will involve assessments utilizing WebAssign digital resources.

Responsibilities

  • Teach two Algebra courses for the Fall 2025 semester.
  • Conduct in-person instruction on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
  • Prepare course materials and assessments.
  • Grade student assignments and provide feedback.
  • Communicate with students regarding course content and expectations.

Requirements

  • A minimum of a master's degree in mathematics or a related field.
  • Previous experience in teaching college-level mathematics.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with WebAssign.
  • Experience with Canvas.
