About the position

The Adjunct Faculty member for Game Design & Production at Drexel University is responsible for teaching various courses within the program, fostering student artistic development, and encouraging active learning. This role involves maintaining course-related records, evaluating student work, and providing feedback to help students meet course objectives. The position may require teaching in-person, online, or a combination of both, and focuses on utilizing industry-standard tools such as Unity, Maya, and Adobe Creative Cloud.

Responsibilities

  • Teach required number of credit hours per quarter based on their contract.
  • Teach studio, lecture, and/or practicum courses as assigned.
  • Plan and provide instructional experiences that reflect an understanding of the program's philosophy and objectives.
  • Evaluate student achievement of curricular objectives/outcomes.
  • Maintain communication with the program director regarding course or student issues.
  • Utilize existing University systems for course and student data and communication management.
  • Perform other similar duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Game Design, Development, Art, Programming or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of teaching and/or professional experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Advanced degree in related field.
  • 3 years professional game development experience with one or more published titles.
  • Proven record of over 3 years of teaching and/or mentorship experience.
