About the position
This job is a part-time, non-benefited, FLSA Exempt/Professional position in the Computer Science Division that reports to the Program Director - Networking Specialist. The instructor must be familiar with a wide range of AWS services to include computing, storage, networking, database, analytics, application services, deployment, management, mobile, developer tools, and tools for the Internet of Things. The most popular include Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) and Amazon Simple Storage Service (Amazon S3). The instructor must be able to prepare and deliver lecture and/or lab course material. Prepares lesson plans for classroom instruction for general core courses. Evaluates students' progress in attaining goals and objectives. Prepares and maintains all required documentation and administrative reports. Displays a high level of effort and commitment to performing work; operates effectively within the organizational structure; demonstrates trustworthiness and responsible behavior. Accepts direction and feedback from supervisor and follows through appropriately. Assists with recruitment retention and job placement efforts.
Responsibilities
- Prepares lesson plans for classroom instruction for specified courses.
- Evaluates students' progress in attaining goals and objectives.

- Accepts direction and feedback from supervisor and follows through appropriately.
- Assists with recruitment retention and job placement efforts.
- May be required to act as a Campus Security Authority; completing all responsibilities and trainings that go along with the initiative.
- Performs other duties as assigned in the fulfillment of the needs, philosophy, and purpose of Gwinnett Technical College.
Requirements
- Must hold a Bachelor's degree in field AND at least 18 semester hours in field; OR Master's degree in related field.
- Two years of relevant work experience.
- Amazon Web Services (AWS) (Solutions Architect, SysOps Administrator, and Developer) Certification(s) is a minimum.
