About the position

Strayer University is seeking a passionate Adjunct Faculty member for an online undergraduate-level Criminal Justice class. The role involves teaching assigned courses, mentoring students, and maintaining high academic standards. Faculty members are expected to foster a strong faculty-student relationship and enhance the learning experience through technology and effective communication.

Responsibilities

• Teach courses as assigned from a pre-designed curriculum.
• Utilize professional expertise to provide high-quality instruction.
• Enhance the curriculum using technology and videos.
• Utilize the online learning platform to enrich the student learning experience.
• Be available to students via email, phone, text, and office hours for timely feedback.
• Establish high standards and ensure students understand evaluation criteria.
• Adhere to University policies and procedures.
• Attend faculty meetings and workshops or training as required.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Criminal Justice, Justice Studies, Justice Administration, Public Safety, Corrections, Police Science, or Law Enforcement Administration from an accredited institution.
• Teaching experience at the college level, preferably online.
• 3 years or more of professional experience in a Criminal Justice position.

Nice-to-haves

• Professional certification in discipline specialty (if applicable).
• Demonstrated knowledge of academic technology and evaluation.
• Strong computer skills (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
