The Adjunct Faculty - Graduate Programs position at Galen College of Nursing involves engaging in the full scope of the academic nurse educator role. This includes facilitating learning, using assessment strategies, participating in curriculum development, and acting as a leader and change agent within the educational environment. The role is essential for ensuring that nursing education meets state and federal regulations and accreditation standards.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate learning and learner development by creating an environment that supports student achievement.
- Implement a variety of teaching strategies appropriate to learner needs and desired outcomes.
- Utilize information technologies and eLearning technology to enhance the teaching-learning process.
- Assess and evaluate student learning across various settings and domains.
- Design and implement program assessments for continuous quality improvement.
- Evaluate student and graduate achievement of program outcomes and competencies.
- Engage in professional development activities to enhance effectiveness as a faculty member.
- Mentor new faculty as assigned.
Requirements
- Active, current, unencumbered licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of residence.
- Graduate Degree in Nursing and a Doctoral Degree in Nursing or a related field required.
- Minimum of two years of clinical experience as a Registered Nurse.
- Minimum of two years of online teaching experience required; teaching experience at the post-licensure level preferred.
