About the position

The position involves performing instructional duties and related responsibilities within the College's instructional program, specifically for the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Program. The adjunct faculty member will be responsible for teaching students in both classroom and clinical settings, preparing syllabi, selecting textbooks, assessing student learning, and maintaining attendance and grade records. The role requires a commitment to the community college mission and philosophy, as well as effective communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform instructional duties as assigned for appropriate subject area
  • Prepare or update syllabi for instructional area as assigned
  • Participate in selection of textbooks and equipment necessary for instructional assignments
  • Perform assessment of student learning and participate in College-wide assessment program
  • Report absences from assigned responsibilities promptly to the Dean
  • Maintain attendance and grade records and provide these records for review as necessary
  • Participate in professional development activities both on campus and off-campus, if available
  • Keep abreast of current trends, technologies, and information in subject area
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing with Train the Trainer Certificate
  • A current Illinois nursing license
  • At least two years of experience in a clinical setting
  • Commitment to community college mission and philosophy
  • Excellent communication, organization, and presentation skills
  • Willingness and ability to teach students in the classroom and through alternative delivery methods
  • Ability to work with the entire College community in an effective and positive manner.
