About the position

The Adjunct position is hybrid, requiring the instructor to be present in person one day a week and one day online. The role involves teaching and developing curriculum in the Art subject area, necessitating a strong background in the field and the ability to instruct a high-needs population.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for instruction and the development and implementation of curriculum.
  • Evaluate, organize, revise, and implement curriculum.
  • Work online in modules.
  • Establish, coordinate, and maintain communication with other faculty.
  • Stay updated on federal laws and state mandated regulations.
  • Help students identify and achieve their educational goals through advising.
  • Post and keep on campus hours to facilitate interaction with students and staff.
  • Serve on standing ad hoc committees, advisory boards, and faculty senate.
  • Attend local, regional, state, or national meetings as required.
  • Mentor and assist in orienting new faculty.
  • Attend commencement or other ceremonies appropriate to the discipline.
  • Attend departmental, divisional, and college-wide meetings.
  • Perform other academically-related duties as assigned.
  • Maintain student office hours.
  • Develop and implement a professional development plan.
  • Implement student assessments and local assessments.
  • Conduct data collection, organization, compilation, and analysis.
  • Write comprehensive, objective reports and present information to various audiences.
  • Remain current concerning trends in research and evaluation.
  • Develop methods to assess students' needs and curriculum needs.
  • Provide technical expertise regarding assigned functions.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in subject area or related field.
  • Must have 15 units directly related to the subject area of Art.
  • Experience in the field of study.
  • Knowledgeable in instructing high-needs population.
  • Computer proficiency.
