About the position
Siena Heights University is seeking an Adjunct Clinical Nursing Faculty member to teach clinical nursing courses for the prelicensure baccalaureate nursing program. This position involves teaching and evaluating students in various clinical sites, which may include locations in Jackson, MI and Adrian, MI. The hours and days of work will vary depending on the course schedule, and clinical hours will also vary by course.
Responsibilities
- Teach and evaluate students in clinical sites.
- Plan and coordinate daily learning experiences that meet both student and patient needs.
- Complete program specific health requirements.
- Complete clinical agency orientation.
- Maintain current knowledge related to agency/clinical policies, procedures, and expectations with the assistance of agency/clinical personnel.
- Plan clinical experiences and provide direct supervision and evaluation of nursing students delivering care.
- Evaluate and provide timely documented feedback to students on their performance based on course outcomes.
- Correct and return clinical assignments/paperwork in a timely manner.
Requirements
- Minimum of master's degree in nursing from an accredited college or university.
- An unencumbered Michigan or Ohio nursing license.
- Minimum of at least three years professional clinical practice experience within the last five years in a clinical specialty area.
Nice-to-haves
- Prior clinical teaching experience preferred.
