About the position
The Addictions Counselor position at Fairmount Behavioral Health System is a part-time role focused on providing therapeutic support to individuals dealing with addiction issues. The counselor will work primarily on weekends, contributing to a peaceful and therapeutic environment for patients and their families. This role requires a master's degree in a related field and relevant certification, along with experience in addiction counseling, preferably in an inpatient psychiatric setting.
Responsibilities
- Provide counseling and support to patients dealing with addiction issues.
- Conduct assessments and develop treatment plans for individuals in recovery.
- Facilitate group therapy sessions and individual counseling sessions.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care for patients.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient progress and treatment outcomes.
Requirements
- Master's degree in psychology, social work, counseling, nursing, or a related field with a practicum in a health and human service agency.
- Two years of experience working with the addiction population, preferably in an inpatient psychiatric setting.
- CAC, CAADC, or CCDP certification required.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in a drug and alcohol setting is preferred.
