About the position

The Addictions Counselor I position at Mount St. Mary's Hospital involves providing rehabilitative therapy and counseling services to patients dealing with addiction and mental health issues. The role is part of a multidisciplinary team and requires direct supervision while delivering patient care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The counselor will work with various patient demographics and is expected to manage a flexible work schedule that includes day, evening, and weekend shifts.

Responsibilities

• Provide alcoholism/addiction counseling and mental health services as a clinician under direct supervision.
• Deliver patient care through the process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
• Maintain patient charts and logs, ensuring accurate documentation of patient interactions and treatment plans.
• Schedule appointments and manage communication with patients and team members.
• Handle emergency or crisis situations as they arise.

Requirements

• Associate's Degree and/or CASAC required.
• Q.H.P. Status within timeframe established by Director required.
• One (1) year experience in treatment with addicted populations required.
• Inpatient experience and experience with MICA clients preferred.
• Knowledge of computerized documentation preferred.

Nice-to-haves

• Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• Experience in the addictions field of expertise preferred.
