About the position

The Actuarial Strategic Planning Leader is responsible for providing strategic consultation and serving as actuarial expert in identifying growth opportunities, while mitigating loss. This position will work in a hybrid model (remote and office) and the ideal candidate will live within 50 miles of one of our Elevance Health PulsePoint locations.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic consultative guidance and serve as actuarial point of contact and key voice in identifying and quantifying growth opportunities, including organic sources.
• Focus on high-risk areas within the business that are causing significant variance to budget to identify key drivers and create turnaround plan.
• Actuarial point of contact for merger and acquisition activities.
• Support development of Medicaid Capitation Rates pursuant to 42 CFR 438 and ASOP 49.

Requirements

• Requires BA/BS and minimum of 15 years' experience in Mathematics/Actuarial/Finance field which includes minimum of 7 years of experience working with executive level staff; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
• MAAA and ASA/FSA.

Nice-to-haves

• Minimum 3 years relevant experience developing or evaluating Medicaid Managed Care Capitation Rates.
• Ability to certify rate development pursuant to ASOP 49 - Medicaid Managed Care Capitation Rate Development and Certification.
