About the position
The Actuarial Services Director for Medicare Advantage at Kaiser is a managerial role responsible for guiding and overseeing the actuarial functions within the organization. This position involves leading the completion of actuarial documentation and reporting, evaluating product lines, and implementing complex actuarial models to assess financial risks and opportunities. The director will also play a crucial role in influencing senior business partners and stakeholders by providing actionable recommendations based on thorough analyses.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrates continuous learning and maintains a highly skilled and engaged workforce by aligning resource plans with business objectives.
- Oversees the operation of multiple units and/or departments by identifying customer and operational needs and incorporating them into business plans.
- Leads actuarial documentation and reporting by coordinating the completion of the actuarial portion of financial reports and tax returns.
- Leads product line evaluations by coordinating analysis of product line financials, pricing, reserve, valuation, and making recommendations based on performance.
- Furthers actuarial research by implementing complex methods to advance actuarial techniques and standards.
- Monitors financial risks and opportunities by developing advanced actuarial methods and conducting analyses.
- Influences senior business partners by translating complex actuarial constructs into actionable recommendations.
- Identifies needs and provides guidance on building frameworks and assumptions for actuarial models.
Requirements
- Minimum three (3) years supervisory experience
- Bachelor's degree in mathematics or related field
- Minimum ten (10) years actuarial experience
- Associate of the Society of Actuaries Certificate OR Associate of the Casualty Actuarial Society Certificate
