About the position
The Senior Actuarial Analyst at Independence American Insurance Company (IAIC) plays a crucial role in analyzing and evaluating future events to mitigate financial risks associated with pet insurance products. This position involves contributing to product pricing, rate filings, and providing innovative analytical solutions to guide decision-making processes within the company.
Responsibilities
- Completes and interprets actuarial analysis, valuations, cost estimates, and modeling using mathematics, statistical programming, and financial theory.
- Assists with the completion of rate filing documents for all states.
- Researches rate filings, as needed.
- Maintains and updates existing models, tools, and other files used for analysis.
- May prepare reserving, forecasting, rate filings, pricing analysis, and experience reports for review.
- Completes ad hoc reporting, as necessary.
- Completes appropriate database work, as necessary.
- Develops complex actuarial models.
- Interprets rate objects and prepares responses and rating support.
- Interprets rate regulations and applies them appropriately to rating development and support.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Math, Finance, Actuarial Science, Economics, Accounting, Computer Information Systems, or other quantitative field, or equivalent work experience.
- 4 years' relevant experience.
- Must have passed Four+ Actuarial Exams.
