About The Position

As a member of the Activities Team, the Activities Supervisor is responsible and accountable for the daily operations and retention activities of the Aquatic department in order to best provide our owners and guests with first-class pool activities and services while pursuing every means of our operating economy. The Supervisor will meet or exceed established standards for Members and employee satisfaction. The Supervisor will strive to provide a safe, clean and enjoyable working environment for the Aquatics staff, assuring peak performance from all team members while guaranteeing the most enjoyment for our Members.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree Required
  • Minimum 2 years' experience as Aquatics Supervisor/Manager
  • Minimum 2 years' experience as Swim Instructor and Lifeguard.
  • Swim Team Coaching and Group Aquatics Instructor experience.
  • Previous experience in a Private Country Club.
  • Outstanding Customer Service, Leadership and Organizational Abilities.
  • Ability to calculate Aquatic department costs, lesson and tournament pricing, discounts, percentages, inventory, labor standards and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic math.
  • Must possess current WSI, Basic Lifeguard, CPR-adult, child and infant, AED and First Aid; additional certifications a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a mentor for the development of staff within the department.
  • The Aquatics Supervisor shall have the responsibility of the education and training of the Aquatic staff, including lifeguards and pool greeter/monitors.
  • Coach staff members as needed, while creating an enjoyable atmosphere and establishing camaraderie among team members.
  • Assist team members in obtaining Aquatic and applicable Certifications in their succession planning.
  • Responsible for appraising the performance of team members, including rewarding and discipline.
  • Directly supervise Aquatics staff in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • This will include planning, scheduling, assigning and at times (or, per projected daily business) performing activities of the team members they supervise.
  • Be a team leader and lead by example, because it is important to inspire motivation and anticipation in all team members.
  • Accept responsibility for personal decisions, spontaneously recognize and celebrate team member success.
  • Maintain effective lines of communication between all team members in regard to Aquatics operations and issues relating to the guest experience.
  • Communicating the core values and mission of the company to the achievement of company goals.
  • Attend Aquatics exhibitions, buying shows and educational seminars to stay abreast of the current market and technical trends in the Aquatics and Private Country Club industry.
  • Ensure that superior standards of Aquatic production at all times meets the requirements of our members and employees, while assuring the standards are being constantly improved upon.
  • This will mean being creative in seeking new ways to get things done.
  • Assist in all Aquatic functions (i.e. lessons, tournaments, games, classes) with department managers.
  • Provide accurate and up to date cost sheets for all Aquatic items, and write Aquatic cost sheets for all events.
  • Assist in the promotion of the club/resort continually seeking out prospective business.
  • Continually challenge the status quo; being innovative, and dynamic with all efforts related to increasing revenue for the Aquatics department.
