About the position

The Activities Director at Villas of Holly Brook is responsible for developing and implementing engaging programs that enhance the lives of residents in assisted living and memory care communities. This role involves managing activity assistants, volunteers, and the monthly event calendar, ensuring that activities align with resident interests and promote an active aging lifestyle. The director also plays a key role in community growth through public relations and sales activities, while overseeing departmental budgets and transportation operations.

Responsibilities

• Develops and implements programs of interest and meaning to residents.
• Manages and supervises activity assistants, volunteers, and drivers.
• Manages the monthly event calendar and all move-in actions related to activities.
• Researches, evaluates, approves, develops, and modifies community events and programs.
• Prepares and publishes a creative monthly program calendar by the 15th of each month.
• Engages and motivates residents to participate in programs.
• Contributes to community growth by participating in sales activities.
• Engages in community public relations and prepares local publicity stories.
• Manages departmental needs and goals within budget constraints.
• Serves as the community's 'manager-on-duty' regularly.
• Determines and manages community resident transportation operations.
• Recruits, approves, trains, and manages volunteers.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Solid performance management skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively under stress.
• Demonstrated ability to use independent judgment and discretion.
• Ability to operate standard office equipment and technology.
• Valid driver's license and compliance with company motor vehicle policy.
