About the position

The Accounts Receivable Collections Specialist at Joe Taylor Restoration plays a crucial role in ensuring timely collection of payments on open receivables. This position is integral to the accounting team, which is dedicated to supporting each other and making a positive impact on the company and its customers. The role involves proactive communication with customers, maintaining accurate records in the company's CRM, and collaborating with various departments to resolve payment issues.

Responsibilities

  • Collect on open balances of assigned customers before lien due date, following the documented JTR collection approach.
  • Research overdue accounts and investigate discrepancies.
  • Communicate efficiently and effectively with customers via phone, email, and letters.
  • Document all calls and collection efforts in the CRM software, providing updates on communication and payment status.
  • Monitor the Accounts Receivable Aging issued by the ERP system, currently transitioning from Quickbooks to NetSuite.
  • Process payments via ACH, Credit Cards, wire transfers, and third-party checks.
  • Collaborate and communicate with team members from other departments (Production, Admin, Billing) for the resolution of customer issues impeding payment.
  • Maintain direct communication with the Management team concerning lien decisions.
  • Assist in processing liens and satisfaction of liens.
  • Assist in processing small claim losses against delinquent accounts.
  • Cross-train in various roles to support the Accounting Team.
  • Perform other duties or special projects as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in accounts receivable or collections.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and ERP systems, preferably NetSuite or Quickbooks.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with team members across departments.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the restoration or construction industry.
  • Familiarity with lien processing and small claims.
  • Knowledge of payment processing methods.
