The Accounting Supervisor is a key leader responsible for overseeing daily financial operations, including AP, AR, and high-volume corporate accounts. This role ensures the integrity of our financial data through robust internal controls, streamlined month-end processes, and the development of clear procedural documentation.

Requirements

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Exceptional leadership abilities
  • IT literate - fully conversant in Microsoft Office applications (especially Excel)
  • A strong sense of accountability, honesty, and responsibility in all tasks, supporting the trust that we have built with passengers, partners, and communities
  • Enthusiasm for contributing to our unique mission, whether that’s through direct customer service, operational excellence, or behind-the-scenes support
  • Must be a legally entitled to work in Canada

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in an accounting leadership role an asset
  • Experience working in a multi-company environment
  • Previous aviation experience

Responsibilities

  • Review tax filings and regulatory submissions, including GST, and fuel taxes
  • Oversee the full AP/AR cycles, ensuring timely collections of outstanding receivables and punctual payment of vendor obligations
  • Analyze cash flow visibility by monitoring bank balances and reviewing/signing off on monthly bank reconciliations
  • Coach and mentor staff by communicating clear job expectations and providing technical guidance on complex accounting entries
  • Lead the month-end close process by analyzing variances, monitoring revenue/expenses, and performing thorough reconciliations of all balance sheet accounts
  • Drive operational excellence by identifying opportunities for automation, documenting standard operating procedures (SOPs), and implementing internal control enhancements
  • Support audit requirements by preparing necessary schedules, providing documentation, and assisting in the completion of the year-end processes
  • Coordinate team coverage by assigning and scheduling tasks, monitoring workloads, and facilitating cross-training to ensure zero gaps in service
