About The Position

Carter Caves State Resort Park, beautifully located in Carter County, is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Accounting Clerk I to join our administrative team. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for preparing and processing accounts payable documents, performing EMARS duties with minimal supervision, and handling daily business reports and financial transactions. Your keen eye for detail and ability to work independently will be essential in ensuring the smooth operation of our accounting department.

Requirements

  • High school graduate.
  • Two years of accounting, bookkeeping, or fiscal clerical experience.
  • Additional education in accounting, business administration, business education, office administration, or a related field will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis OR Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS) Certification in Accounting or KCTCS Certification as an Accounting Recordkeeping Specialist will substitute for the required experience.
  • Additional accounting, bookkeeping, or fiscal clerical experience will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and process pay documents for various park departments
  • Prepare and process daily business reports and OP log, ensuring accuracy in counting, verifying, and balancing receipts and bank deposits
  • Prepare and post internal financial reports, including expenditure ledger, purchase ledger, food cost report, and audit inventory of park facilities
  • Serve as the human resource generalist (HRG) for the park, efficiently processing payroll and personnel actions
  • Assist with other duties as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to support the team.
