About the position
The Accounting Associate (Collections) is a part-time role responsible for assisting in the collections of accounts receivable. This position involves contacting clients regarding payment inquiries, negotiating with past due accounts, and coordinating with the Corporate Accounting Department. Responsibilities
- Assist in all activities related to the collections of accounts receivable.
- Contact clients via email or telephone regarding payment of invoices.
- Coordinate with DMA personnel on contacting clients about payments.
- Run A/R reports and maintain notes associated with clients.
- Notify clients of turnover to collection agencies or attorneys if no response is received.
- Organize, maintain, and update all related files.
- Apply cash receipts in A/R on a daily basis and generate daily reports.
- Update A/R reconciliation spreadsheet daily and balance weekly/monthly.
- Communicate unapplied cash receipts to appropriate DMA personnel.
Requirements
- Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- 3+ years of prior office-related work experience preferred.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Internet search tools.
- Ability to work independently on assigned tasks.
- Accuracy and ability to meet deadlines is essential.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship.
