About the position

The Accounting Assistant will support the accounting department of a reputable pool construction company by managing financial transactions, maintaining accurate records, and assisting in day-to-day accounting operations. This role is essential for ensuring the smooth financial operations of the company and requires a detail-oriented individual with strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Process accounts payable and receivable transactions.
  • Reconcile bank statements and company accounts.
  • Prepare and maintain financial reports and records.
  • Assist in budget preparation and expense tracking.
  • Maintain financial data in QuickBooks Desktop (preferred).
  • Prepare invoices and follow up on outstanding payments.
  • Support payroll processing as needed.
  • Assist with tax filing preparation and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
  • Communicate with vendors, customers, and internal teams regarding financial matters.
  • Perform general administrative duties to support the accounting team.

Requirements

  • 1-2 years of experience in an accounting or bookkeeping role, preferably in the construction or service industry.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks Desktop (preferred) and MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Strong numerical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
