About the position

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical degreed Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing financial records, performing account analysis, and ensuring compliance with applicable regulations. This role requires a strong understanding of financial management principles and technical accounting skills, particularly in the construction and manufacturing industries. The Accountant will also play a key role in working with the existing staff and has the opportunity to grow into the Controller position in the future.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate financial records and ensure timely reporting.
• Perform account analysis to identify discrepancies and recommend corrective actions.
• Prepare and manage financial statements, budgets, and forecasts for all entities.
• Oversee technical accounting functions related to sales and use tax compliance.
• Utilize financial software, including QuickBooks Online, for data entry and reporting.
• Collaborate with other departments to support financial management initiatives.
• Assist in the preparation of tax returns and ensure compliance with tax regulations.

Requirements

• Proven experience as an Accountant or similar role, with a strong background in financial accounting.
• Familiarity with technical accounting principles and practices.
• Experience in account analysis and financial forecasting is preferred.
• Proficiency in using financial software, particularly QuickBooks Online and Excel.
• Previous experience working in manufacturing is a plus.
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
