Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field, plus at least one year of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience.
Thorough knowledge of accounting policies and practices.
Able to demonstrate and maintain computer competence with proficiency in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel.
Must have a valid driver's license.
Authorized to work for any employer in the United States without sponsorship now and in the future.

Responsibilities

Prepares general journal entries documenting business transactions.
Maintains supporting schedules for various general ledger accounts.
Compiles, analyzes, and prepares financial statements and information, general ledger account reconciliations; assists in the preparation of regulatory reports.
Collects appropriate data and assists with the preparation of state insurance department financial reports and premium tax returns.
Assists with and prepares documents for the annual audit and other external audits.
Prepares financial statements and analyzes current results and reports findings to senior manager/s.
Outlines and implements the general accounting processes; documents information.
Assists with the implementation of accounting information system and accounting procedure improvements.
