About The Position

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Accountant to join our finance team. This role provides exposure to a wide range of accounting and finance activities within a fast-growing technology environment. Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Accountant will manage day-to-day accounting functions and support the financial health of the business. The Accountant will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records (both standalone and consolidated), preparing reports including compliance related, ensuring compliance of company’s spend and travel policies, and supporting management with financial analysis and reporting.

Requirements

  • Holder of Bachelors in Accounting, Accounting and Finance or Business Administration with Accounting specialization
  • CPA Canada Qualified
  • Minimum 2 years post-qualified experience ideally in a tech environment
  • Demonstrated experience in handling full set of books including consolidation
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Googlesheets
  • Proficiency in QBO or similar
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and prepare clear detailed reports
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team, and meet tight deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and work under pressure
  • Demonstrated ability to interact fluidly cross-function across the organization
  • Immediately available

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain general ledger and journal entries, including reconciliations
  • Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable processing and reconciliations.
  • Managing an entire month-close process including supervision of team members.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements and reporting packs
  • Complete bank, credit card, and other account reconciliations
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow tracking
  • Ensure compliance with ASPE standards, lending and tax requirements
  • Process and review expense claims in accordance with prescribed company policies
  • Prepare and submit GST/HST filing and other required filings
  • Support external audits by providing requested information and documentation
  • Keep financial records accurate, organized, and up to date
  • Participate and own ad hoc projects as assigned
  • Look for opportunities to improve processes and strengthen internal controls
