About The Position

Amicalola EMC has an immediate opening for an Accountant. This position will aid the Manager of Accounting and staff in keeping a complete and systematic set of accounting records for the Co-op as well as preparing monthly and yearly financial reports.

Requirements

Bachelors Degree in Accounting required.
Prior experience of at least 3 years in accounting.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Excel.
Strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, written and oral communication skills are essential.
Must have the ability to work independently, manage time, and possess personal initiative.
Must maintain a valid driver's license.
Prolonged periods of sitting and computer work.
Occasional walking, standing, bending, stretching, pushing, pulling, lifting and carrying materials, equipment and office supplies <20 lbs.

Nice To Haves

CPA Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

Records the proper accounting entries and reconciles accounts.
Analyzes and prepares explanations as requested of accounting records.
Cross trains with Accounting Department Staff to provide back up as needed.
Completes formal training and stays familiar with the uniform system of accounts as prescribed by RUS.
Posts approved entries to subsidiary ledgers, journals, and the general ledger.
Assists and aids with inventories and reconciles G/L, stock ledger, and inventory count.
Other duties or projects as required.
