The Accountant, reporting to the Financial Shared Services (FSC) Manager, North America, is responsible for supporting the monthly close process, assisting in audit processes and other projects as needed. This individual will be responsible for maximizing the efficiency of our financial systems. Our ideal candidate will demonstrate strong communication, problem solving and process management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Must follow Ahlstroms manufacturing and hygiene processes, procedures and policies, as applicable, to the positions areas of responsibility, in order to meet and maintain the safety, quality, and regulatory compliance requirements for each grade of paper.
  • Assist in month-end close process
  • Provide support for audit process
  • Reporting accuracy and reconciliation to the general ledger
  • Assist FSC Manager, North America in adherence to key control measures
  • Record, monitor, and track fixed assets
  • IFRS 16 - Track leases in Fatman and provide monthly reporting
  • Support the team in various projects

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required
  • Strong GAAP skills required, familiarity with IFRS a plus
  • 5+ years of business analysis and accounting experience in a manufacturing environment is required
  • Strong analytical, financial systems, and communication skills
  • Specific knowledge of financial systems: JDE (experience strongly preferred), HFM, Fatman and Microsoft Office tools
  • Advanced Excel skills preferred
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis

Nice-to-haves

  • Paper industry experience desired
