About The Position

This is a temporary position with the NC Education Lottery, located at 2728 Capital Blvd., Raleigh, NC - Wake County. The role is a hybrid position with a duration through the end of August, with potential for extension. The hourly rate of pay is $27.00, based on education and/or years of relevant work experience. This position is focused on ensuring the integrity of complex financial data through regular audits, verifications, and balances on high-volume transactional data.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field and 3 years of experience
• Knowledge of Accounting Procedures and Practices, including U S GAAP and Fraud rules
• Knowledge of Accounting Software Systems – Microsoft Dynamics D365 preferred
• Skills with SAS and Business Intelligence reporting
• Strong Skills in Microsoft Excel, Access, and Word
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to multitask and meet deadlines
• Attention to detail
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, or a degree in business administration, finance, public administration, or a related discipline from an appropriately accredited institution with 18 semester hours of accounting coursework; and two years of professional accounting/auditing experience in the preparation of interpretive or analytical accounting. financial statements and reports; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Verify weekly EFT Files in Microsoft Dynamics D365 and the banking system
• Prepare and reconcile the weekly Invoice Report using Microsoft Dynamics D365 and EFT File
• Distribute the file to the necessary departments
• Input weekly exception claims and the reconciliation of the affected accounts
• Prepares reports for instant games terminating and provides an analysis of net sales, prize expense, prize liability, prizes paid, and the return to education
• Manages the tax database quarterly, and the creation of the commission summaries database
• Reviews automated daily journal (ARD and ARDS) with the ICS Report for both traditional and digital and verifies the daily total
• Prepares reports and creates spreadsheets to reconcile reported data before distributing information
