About the position

The Accountant II, Senior, or Lead position at Tucson Electric Power involves maintaining accounting records and preparing complex financial statements in a dynamic and heavily regulated utility environment. The role requires adaptability to new processes and compliance with GAAP, FERC, and SEC requirements, while also providing support to various departments within the financial accounting function.

Responsibilities

• Prepare complex financial statements and perform account reconciliations.
• Participate in month and year-end closing activities.
• Ensure financial statement compliance with GAAP, FERC, and SEC requirements.
• Assist in preparation of various regulatory compliance reports.
• Complete/Review responses to regulatory data requests and reviews rate case adjustments.
• Develop and document new accounting procedures and modifications to existing procedures to enhance efficiency/effectiveness and maintain internal controls.
• Provide customer service to other departments and management by providing financial data and analysis to assist in business decisions and analysis of operating results.
• Use Oracle Financials accounting and query tools, Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint to develop reports and supporting accounting schedules.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or higher degree in Accounting.
• Public accounting experience.
• CPA preferred.
