About the position

The Account Resolution Specialist role at Intermountain Health focuses on providing exceptional customer service through effective account handling processes. Responsibilities

  • Works with inbound phone calls and walk-in customers in a professional manner.
  • Collaborates on follow-up items with the appropriate person/area to ensure customer queries are resolved.
  • Analyzes and collects unpaid self-pay balances to ensure accounts are paid in full.
  • Assists patients with financial options, including referrals for financial assistance and long-term payment plans.
  • Documents discussions with patients by entering detailed notes in the appropriate software.
  • Handles patient accounts and updates as needed, including demographic updates and charge corrections.
  • Maintains expected productivity and quality standards, working on daily, weekly, and monthly reports.

Requirements

  • Four years general customer service experience or two years medical admitting, billing, collection, or insurance experience.
  • Demonstrated excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience managing multiple tasks or priorities.
  • Demonstrated typing proficiency.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bi-lingual - Spanish speaking.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Versed in CPT/ICD-9 codes.
