About the position

The Account Manager for Retirement & Investment at CBIZ is responsible for managing a specified block of business, ensuring overall client satisfaction, and promoting client retention. This role involves resolving client inquiries, collaborating with internal partners, and introducing new products and services to enhance operational efficiencies.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary contact for a specified block of business, ensuring overall client satisfaction.
  • Resolve a variety of client issues, including compliance inquiries, tax reporting, audits, and contract re-pricing.
  • Respond to plan sponsors in a professional and timely manner regarding issues or questions.
  • Promote client retention and identify opportunities to strengthen existing relationships through quality service.
  • Provide value-added solutions to improve operational efficiencies.
  • Collaborate with internal partners to deliver timely and accurate information in response to inquiries and service issues.
  • Assist in the introduction of new products and services.
  • Resolve complex situations or requests from clients.
  • Create plan communications focusing on compliance and education.
  • Attend client meetings and prepare materials for those meetings.
  • Achieve service goals established by the department.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • At least three years of professional experience in retirement plan administration and compliance.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of industry concepts, principles, practices, and procedures.
  • Knowledge of pertinent laws, regulations, and professional standards.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and enterprise communication tools (Concur, Skype).
  • Experience demonstrating initiative and leadership skills.
  • Ability to anticipate and elicit customer needs.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to quickly learn business and technical knowledge.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization.

Nice-to-haves

  • Pursuing Qualified Pension Administrator (QPA) or Qualified 401(K) Administrator (QKA) certification.
  • Experience in a client management role.
