About the position

The Account Manager role at The Hartford is focused on supporting the underwriting process in the sales acquisition of Commercial Middle Market Large Property insurance. This position serves as a key point of contact for agents and customers, facilitating communication and problem resolution while managing a high volume of transactions. The role emphasizes relationship building, effective communication, and the ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment. The position offers a hybrid work arrangement, requiring in-office presence three days a week for candidates located near specific office locations.

Responsibilities

  • Support Underwriting in the sales acquisition process.
  • Provide account coordination for new business and renewal policy.
  • Review and prepare work orders for rating and issuing policies.
  • Communicate with customers to obtain necessary underwriting information and resolve issues.
  • Manage a high volume of transactions while balancing quality and timeliness.
  • Organize work based on priorities and maintain an effective follow-up system.
  • Attend Regional Office Meetings to align with office priorities and goals.

Requirements

  • Prior Commercial Market Insurance industry experience as an Account Manager or similar role.
  • Knowledge of primary insurance coverages, particularly Property.
  • Experience with Large Property is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Excel, including V-Lookups and filtering/sorting.
  • Strong customer service and relationship-building skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good automation skills and strong technical ability.
  • Professional demeanor and ability to work autonomously.

Nice-to-haves

  • College degree preferred.
