About the position

The Account Manager, Client Services position at HSAC is a full-time role focused on providing exceptional service to clients in the insurance sector, specifically for student health insurance plans. This position is not sales-oriented and requires a strong commitment to client satisfaction. As the first and last point of contact for clients, the Account Manager must efficiently and accurately address client inquiries and concerns, ensuring a seamless experience. The role involves being a liaison between clients and the company, necessitating a deep understanding of the company's offerings and the ability to foster strong relationships with clients. In this role, you will be responsible for investigating and resolving client inquiries, managing multiple account management projects simultaneously, and maintaining meticulous attention to detail. You will also be required to provide weekly reports to clients, document outcomes, and update client files and databases accurately. The position demands excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, as you will consult with clients via telephone and email to provide information and handle inquiries. A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances are essential for success in this role. The Account Manager must also be a team player, willing to assist colleagues and engage in cross-training to understand all positions within the company. The ability to handle a high-volume workload, especially during peak seasons, while prioritizing tasks effectively is crucial. Responsibilities

  • Investigate and resolve client inquiries with the ability to transition and handle emergent priorities
  • Provide weekly reporting to clients and immediate notification if necessary
  • Document outcomes and steps taken for client inquiries
  • Update client files and database with accuracy, especially during heavy seasonal enrollments
  • Consult with clients by telephone or email to provide information, answer questions, and handle inquiries
  • Deliver personal, prompt, and efficient customer service via telephone and email

Requirements

  • College degree preferred, with previous insurance experience being a plus
  • Minimum of three years of customer service experience
  • Excellent writing and grammar skills
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Products, especially Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access
  • Ability to transition quickly between tasks and handle urgent issues promptly
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Self-starter with the ability to think on your feet
  • Outgoing personality and positive demeanor
  • Ability to handle seasonal high-volume workload and prioritize tasks efficiently
