About the position

The Account Executive for Early Phase Development at Catalent is responsible for driving new business generation and managing customer relationships within the oral dosage form technology sector. This remote, field-based role focuses on identifying, negotiating, and closing new development and clinical manufacturing opportunities, while also supporting existing programs. The position aims to significantly contribute to Catalent's growth and enhance its brand presence in the marketplace.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute sales plans utilizing Miller-Heiman sales methodology to identify, qualify, pursue, and close new development opportunities.
  • Work with legal to execute and negotiate complex development and supply agreements.
  • Present Catalent's Formulation Development and Clinical Manufacturing capabilities effectively to customers.
  • Craft targeted solutions that meet customers' manufacturing and development needs.
  • Generate cross-sell opportunities by presenting Catalent's broader capabilities.
  • Support and prepare development proposals in collaboration with R&D and negotiate these proposals.
  • Collaborate with VPBDs, Global Account Directors, and other Business Units BD teams on strategic account plans.
  • Provide input into pricing strategy with assigned customers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in science, business administration, or a related field; advanced scientific degree or MBA is advantageous but not essential.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in B2B sales, Business Development, or Project Management.
  • Sales/business development experience in the contract pharmaceutical industry preferred.
  • Thorough understanding of oral solid-dose manufacturing is a plus.
  • Thorough understanding of bioavailability enhancement technologies and manufacturing processes is a plus.

Nice-to-haves

  • Advanced scientific degree or Master of Business Administration/commercially oriented degree.
