About the position

The Account Director for Cell & Gene Therapy at Catalent is a pivotal role focused on driving business development for contract manufacturing services in the pharmaceutical and biotech sectors. This position involves evaluating and aligning Catalent's capabilities with customer needs, particularly in the rapidly evolving field of cell and gene therapy. The role is remote and field-based, requiring proactive engagement with clients and collaboration with internal teams to maximize project success and financial returns.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively develop business opportunities for contract manufacturing by prospecting pharmaceutical and biotech companies.
  • Partner with internal sales/marketing and technical support teams to assess and qualify drug target pursuits.
  • Respond to incoming biopharmaceutical leads and inquiries, qualifying them through business analysis and customer evaluations.
  • Engage in the preliminary selling stage of the sales cycle, preparing baseline price proposals and scope of work.
  • Present Catalent's value proposition and facilitate on-site capabilities presentations and tours.
  • Maximize financial returns on projects by educating clients on available solutions.
  • Ensure a successful transition to Project Management while maintaining strong client relationships.

Requirements

  • Master's degree or equivalent work experience in the Cell and Gene Therapy fields.
  • 7+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry with a focus on cell and gene therapy.
  • Proven success operating in the Cell and Gene Therapy space.
  • Experience selling into the European markets.
  • Ability to build strong relationships within all levels of a biopharma account.
  • Proven leadership skills and understanding of financial analytics.
  • Knowledge of the pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical industry.
