About the position
The Account Development Consultant (ADC) role at American Express is focused on onboarding and nurturing newly acquired commercial clients. The ADC will engage with clients to drive charge volume and build strong, loyal relationships through consultative selling and effective account management. This position is part of the Early Tenure team, which plays a critical role in shaping the client experience and ensuring long-term success with American Express.
Responsibilities
- Conduct outbound telephone-based consultations and account development.
- Understand client needs and provide appropriate solutions while resolving or redirecting client concerns.
- Utilize consultative selling and negotiation skills to achieve growth in charge volume.
- Quickly earn client trust to recommend payment efficiencies and demonstrate value.
- Develop cross-functional partnerships to optimize Blue Box values.
- Adhere to Blue Box Values, GCS Sales Practices, and Standard Operating Procedures.
- Champion compliance within US SME AD and GCS.
Requirements
- Business and Corporate Program Knowledge preferred.
- Prior consultative sales or account development experience, preferably in an outbound call environment.
- Effective account development with proven experience in building and managing a pipeline of growth opportunities.
- Ability to build and leverage relationships with internal colleagues and support personnel.
- Proven ability to handle multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated flexibility, resourcefulness, personal accountability, and resiliency.
- Strong organizational, self-motivation, and excellent time management skills with attention to detail.
