This role includes performing component replacement and maintenance on appearance-related items in accordance with manufacturer maintenance manuals, the SkyWest General Maintenance Manual (GMM), and the direction and supervision of the Maintenance Department, with a continued emphasis on flight safety.
Requirements
- Possession of a valid, state-issued unrestricted driver’s license is required
- Ability to read, write, and understand English is required
- Mechanical experience and/or aptitude are required
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment is required
- Willingness to work any assigned shift, including four 10-hour shifts, is required; specific days will be determined based on operational needs
- Availability to work weekend shifts, as needed is required
- Ability to lift 50 pounds from floor level to chest height, with or without reasonable accommodation, is required
- Reliable and punctual attendance is an essential function of this position
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of the SkyWest General Maintenance Manual (GMM)
- Maintain the assigned shop work area in a clean, orderly, and hazard-free condition
- Ensure tools and support equipment are kept clean, safe, and operational at all times
- Wear required eye and hearing protection as necessary when using tools or operating machinery to ensure personal safety
- Be available to work any assigned shift and overtime as needed
