About The Position

Academic Interventionists at Alpha Public Schools are crucial members of the support team, dedicated to enhancing the academic success of students. This role involves providing targeted small group instruction to learners who require additional academic support. The interventionist will work closely with lead teachers to analyze student data, track progress through assessments, and implement effective intervention strategies. A key aspect of this role is fostering a positive and productive learning environment by supporting student behavior and collaborating on behavior intervention plans. Alpha Public Schools is a TK-12 public charter school system in East San José, founded by families to provide stronger academics and more support for their children. Requirements

  • HS Diploma or GED, required (AA degree preferred) OR completion of two years of college, not a degree but seventy-two (72) quarter hours or forty-eight (48) semester hours of college credit
  • High behavioral expectations and academic expectations for all students
  • 1+ years experience working with students
  • A commitment to working with students in traditionally underserved communities.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule and execute small group instructional pullouts for learners in the classroom or grade level assigned
  • Analyze data and conduct assessments to track student intervention progress and make informed decisions
  • Support establishing and maintaining standards of student behavior for a productive learning environment during class sessions
  • Execute classroom management plan, behavior intervention plans, and incentive systems in collaborations with lead teacher
