About the position

The Academic Faculty position in the Department of Academic Nursing is focused on delivering high-quality education and training to nursing students. This role involves managing courses, providing simulation training, and guiding students in their Scholarly Projects, all while fostering a collaborative learning environment. The faculty member will contribute to the development of innovative educational programs and support the professional growth of future nurses.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as course faculty of record, including course management and coordination.
  • Design and implement simulation-based educational training as needed.
  • Provide guidance for student Scholarly Projects as assigned.
  • Serve as advisor for assigned students, conducting summative evaluation conferences.
  • Develop and administer course exams.
  • Cross-teach in other courses as assigned.
  • Serve on committees related to nursing education.
  • Work collaboratively with all Department of Academic Nursing teammates.
  • Complete other assignments as directed by the Department Chair.

Requirements

  • Unencumbered RN licensure in the state of North Carolina.
  • Doctorate in nursing (e.g., DNP or PhD).
  • Minimum of 3 years of clinical nursing or specialty nursing experience.
  • Specialty certification required to teach in an educational specialty track.

Nice-to-haves

  • Prior faculty experience.
