About The Position

Hudspeth Inc., an AIS Infrastructure Group company, is seeking experienced Abatement Workers to support environmental remediation and demolition projects throughout Colorado. This position performs asbestos and hazardous material abatement activities while maintaining strict compliance with OSHA, EPA, CDPHE, and company safety requirements. The ideal candidate has experience in asbestos abatement, demolition, environmental remediation, or construction and possesses the certifications required to safely perform regulated abatement work. Job Summary The Abatement Worker is responsible for assisting with the containment, removal, packaging, transportation, and disposal of asbestos-containing materials and other regulated materials. This position works under the direction of certified supervisors and must consistently follow all applicable environmental, health, and safety regulations.

Requirements

  • Current Colorado Asbestos Worker Certification or ability to obtain prior to project assignment.
  • AHERA 32/40-Hour Asbestos Worker Training Certificate.
  • Ability to pass a respirator fit test and medical evaluation.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and background screening.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds or more regularly.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces, elevated work areas, and varying weather conditions.
  • Reliable transportation and dependable attendance.
  • Ability to wear Tyvek suits, respirators, and other PPE for extended periods.

  • Previous asbestos abatement, demolition, environmental remediation, industrial services, or construction experience.

Responsibilities

  • Perform asbestos abatement activities in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Construct containment areas utilizing poly sheeting, critical barriers, and negative air systems.
  • Remove asbestos-containing materials using approved abatement methods.
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, HEPA vacuums, and other abatement equipment.
  • Package, label, transport, and stage regulated waste materials for disposal.
  • Conduct decontamination and cleanup activities following abatement operations.
  • Assist with demolition, restoration, and site preparation activities as required.
  • Follow all respiratory protection, PPE, and hazardous material handling requirements.
  • Complete daily safety inspections and required documentation.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Travel to various project locations as needed.
  • Participate in safety meetings, training programs, and compliance initiatives.
