About the position

As Sales Manager / Global Education Advisor for the High School Summer Abroad team, you will be the account manager for your given territory, including the management of your enrollment coordinator(s). You will champion school relationships that bring the life-changing experience of studying abroad to U.S. high school students. You will manage a group of existing school partnerships while being responsible for cultivating and building a set number of new schools with a set of specific demographics per sales cycle. You will generate excitement for High School Summer Abroad in your territory with your constituents, i.e. schools, alumni, program leaders and district heads. You will be responsible for managing your entire pipeline of enrollment.

Responsibilities

  • Sell CIEE's High School Abroad portfolio of programs to prospective high schools within a designated territory.
  • Foster ongoing relationships with principals, teachers, counselors, and district administrators to keep CIEE at the forefront of study abroad opportunities and to build our portfolio into their mission for global education.
  • Create new partnerships that support the establishment of study abroad as a standard part of the secondary school curriculum.
  • Prospect and cold call identified target schools on territory list to gain competitive insights about students' and institutions' educational needs.
  • Present CIEE virtually and in-person to mixed audiences that could include teachers, school and district level administrators, prospective students, and parents to targeted schools and organizations.
  • Travel within your region extensively during the September - January selling season and, when occasionally required, internationally.
  • Build relationships with prospective partner organizations in your territory to provide financial support to students studying abroad.
  • Work with high-performing school networks to prospect new donors for need-based High School Summer Abroad scholarships.
  • Generate excitement within school communities through regular contact as students prepare to travel.
  • Promote our professional development opportunities available through CIEE to high school teachers and administrators.
  • Champion CIEE at regional and national educational conferences and trade shows.
  • Manage and work with an Enrollment Coordinator to oversee the entire sales process from lead to traveled students. Maximize conversions through close communication and teamwork.
  • Maintain accurate records of school communication, activities, and school relationship statuses in our CRM system Salesforce, i.e. events, tagging outreach and using sales priority statuses for sales progress.
  • Provide direct customer service to students and parents during critical times in the enrollment and pre-departure process.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent).
  • Minimum of 4 years of sales experience, or study abroad industry experience.
  • Experience with high volume of sales outreach, with success in converting customer leads to partner status.
  • Knowledge of the travel and/or work abroad industry is a bonus.
  • Experience working in or with K-12 public or private schools a plus.
  • An enthusiastic commitment to education and personal belief in the power of bilingualism, cultural competency, global citizenship, and how study abroad is an integral part of achieving these objectives.
  • Ability to use a CRM system to organize and prioritize your sales pipeline. Prior experience in Salesforce a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including a proven ability to dynamically present to large groups.
  • Willingness to be a flexible team player, ready to jump in and do what is needed to get students prepared to travel.
  • Eagerness to travel extensively within your territory during the September - January selling season.
  • Managerial experience a plus.
