About the position
The Tax Professional at H&R Block is a seasonal role focused on providing expert tax services to clients with diverse needs. This position emphasizes building strong client relationships and delivering accurate tax returns while offering support and guidance throughout the tax preparation process. The role requires effective communication and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, utilizing both in-person and virtual tools to conduct tax interviews and provide IRS support.
Responsibilities
- Conduct tax interviews with clients face to face and through virtual tools - video, phone, chat, email
- Prepare complete and accurate tax returns
- Generate business growth, increase client retention, and offer additional products and services
- Provide clients with IRS support
- Mentor and support teammates
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
- CPA or Enrolled Agent certification
- 5+ years of experience in accounting, finance, bookkeeping or tax
- Experience completing complex returns (individual, trust, partnership)
- Experience conducting virtual tax interviews
- Experience with tax planning and audit support
- Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment
- High school diploma / equivalent or higher
Nice-to-haves
- Sales and/or marketing experience
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment
- Comfort working with virtual tools - video, phone and chat
