About the position
The Retail Associate at Goodwill Industries is responsible for providing excellent customer service to shoppers and donors while promoting a positive relationship that enhances the organization's profitability. This role involves various tasks related to merchandise handling, customer interaction, and maintaining store cleanliness, all aimed at supporting Goodwill's mission services.
Responsibilities
- Greet and assist customers and donors upon entering the store.
- Bag merchandise and promptly answer the phone with the correct Goodwill greeting.
- Accurately handle store returns.
- Receive, stock, tag, count, and inventory merchandise.
- Assist in loading and unloading trucks from the distribution center.
- Stock and merchandise textiles, electronics, furniture, housewares, and other goods, ensuring safety and compliance with recall lists.
- Perform general housekeeping, custodial, and janitorial duties as assigned.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Ability to read, write, and speak English effectively.
- Basic mathematical skills.
- Previous retail experience preferred.
