About the position
Syracuse Jr./Sr. High School is seeking a highly motivated candidate for our 7-12 counselor position. This role provides the opportunity to work directly with junior high and high school students in a small school setting, where you will come to know every student and develop educational pathways to meet their needs and goals. The successful candidate will be taking over a well-established and well-run counseling program with scaffolding and supports in place to ensure their successful integration. Syracuse Schools operates on a four-day week (taking Fridays off), provides in-district mentoring, and allows for continued professional development.
Responsibilities
- Work directly with junior high and high school students
- Develop educational pathways to meet student needs and goals
- Integrate into a well-established counseling program
- Provide in-district mentoring and support for students
Requirements
- A valid counseling certification or license
- Experience working with junior high and high school students
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
